How do you think cities will be like after COVID 19?
Many years ago, my father used to read some strange books. One of them was "Earth abides". That was the first time when I heard about a virus. Well, I never imagined a situation like the one we are living today. Cities are changing but it is not easy to make predictions, especially about the future. First, cities (and countries) must provide security. The pandemic has filled us with uncertainty and insecurity. Our natural response is to want security. This means security in having an income, child care, family leave and other things necessary to care for our families. Second, human are social animals. Cities must give opportunities to be with other people and share activities, but how can it be possible? Is technology the panacea?, but what is going to happen if technology does not work properly?
